Neville Rose, Certified Career Counsellor

Helping people find fulfilling careers for over 20 years

I’m Neville Rose, a certified career coach and counsellor with more than 20 years’ experience in career development and professional CV writing.

I began my career in recruitment advertising, writing job advertisements and developing employer-branding strategies for organisations in the UK and internationally.

In 2011, I founded CV Writers, where I have helped thousands of people communicate their experience through professionally written CVs, cover letters and LinkedIn profiles. This has given me a very broad view of different professions, industries and career transitions.

I subsequently trained in career coaching and counselling and founded Career Clarity to provide the deeper exploratory support that is often needed before someone is ready to begin applying for their next role.

I genuinely enjoy helping people make sense of their experience, recognise possibilities they may have overlooked and find a direction that feels both fulfilling and realistic.

    How I Can Help

Career counselling can be helpful when you know that something needs to change but are not yet certain what that change should look like. Our work can help you:

Decide What Really Needs to Change

Explore whether your dissatisfaction is connected to your profession, your particular role, your employer, your working environment or the way work fits into your wider life.

    Understand Your Strengths and Priorities

Identify your transferable strengths, values, interests, motivations and preferred ways of working—and understand how these should influence your next decision.

    Explore Realistic Career Options

Investigate possible career paths and evaluate them against practical considerations such as income, flexibility, location, retraining requirements and future opportunities.

    Plan a Career Transition

Turn a possible direction into a structured plan covering research, networking, skills development, applications and the steps required to make the transition manageable.

    Present Yourself Effectively

Where required, I can also help you develop a targeted CV, LinkedIn profile and application strategy that support your chosen direction.

    A Reflective and Practical Approach

Career change is rarely solved by completing a quick questionnaire alone or looking through a list of suggested jobs. It requires time to understand what has brought you to this point, what you want from the next stage of your working life and which options are genuinely realistic.

My approach combines reflective career counselling with practical career planning. Through structured conversations and guided workbook exercises, we explore your experience, strengths, interests, values and aspirations before developing possible pathways and a clear action plan.

The process is supportive and thought-provoking, but it also remains grounded in the realities of the employment market and your personal circumstances.

Career Counselling in Winchester and Across the UK

Career Clarity is based in Winchester, Hampshire, and I work with clients locally and throughout the UK.

I can help you step back from your immediate situation, understand your options and develop a practical way forward. Online sessions also make the service accessible wherever you are based in the UK.

Career counselling is particularly valuable when you need more than advice about your CV or job search , when you need the space and structure to work out what you genuinely want to do next.
